The growing tendency of consuming bio, eco, organic or natural products has led to some confusion about the meaning of each of these terms. We explain the meaning of all those terms associated with the 'green'.
The term "ECO" refers to a product or provision obtained by ecological farming systems. This agricultural production trend is natural and does not use any chemical synthesis product like pesticides, chemical herbicides, growth hormones or artificial fertilizers. This type of farming uses organic, natural and recycled materials, in addition to working on the principle of crop rotation.
Bio products are made with organic ingredients that have not been treated with pesticides, fertilizers, preservatives, colourings or genetically modified organisms. They are entirely natural and biodegradable and are subject to rigorous controls according to the principles governing organic farming.
Organic products are made from natural raw materials which have not been treated or contaminated in the process of cultivation or manipulation with any chemical additives, fertilizer, pesticide or growth regulator. They help preserve land and water clearing and avoid conditions and allergic processes that occur with the use of chemical compounds.
Product or substance that can be assimilated metabolized and decomposed by the environment, and reconverted in organic matter by the action of biological agents such as plants, fungi or microorganisms under natural environmental conditions.
Product made from natural raw materials from crops or controlled pickups that ensure a balance between the needs of the present and the need for their permanence in time for generations to come.
The concept of sustainable development refers to the mode of development that can improve the lives of people while helping to preserve the environment in the short, medium and especially long term.It has a threefold objective: an economically efficient development, socially equitable, and sustainable from an environmental point of view.
Material or product that can lengthen its life cycle when it is no longer useful, through a process of recycling or creative reuse, reconverting again in a usable material or product.
Product or material produced or manufactured with ethical criteria, standards of economic equity, and decent work, which helps the prosperity of workers, their families, and their communities.
Rejects child labor, equalizes men and women, offers decent work with respect for human rights, and allow decent living conditions. It provides quality, sustainable production, and environmental protection, rejects discrimination and supports disabled or in social reintegration workers. And it avoids large differences between the price the consumer pays for a product and the money paid to producers.
Ecobiological cosmetics are those that:
Are made with organic ingredients and/or wild plants.
Are not genetically treated.
Do not contain environmentally questionable materials in both the products themselves and on the packaging.
Do not contain any nonherbal ingredients considered potentially harmful, allergenic, irritating, or with evidence of possible damage to human health.
Their containers are characterized by reducing the environmental impact and avoid unnecessary packaging.
They are dermo compatibles.
